BIOGRAPHY

Shelina Zadorsky started with the Canadian program in 2007 and won a bronze medal at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship in 2008.ᅠ With the U-20 team, she won a CONCACAF Championship silver medal in 2012 and was captain of the FIFA U-20 World Cup team.

She made her senior debut in 2013 against South Korea at a tournament in China. Shelina had an outstanding collegiate career with the Michigan Wolverines where she was a two-time  All-Big Ten (First Team) player in 2012 and 2013. She was also named a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honouree . Her final year at Michigan, Shelina was named team captain and helped lead the Wolverines to their first ever elite eight NCAA appearance. Michigan finished the season sixth in the country and Zadorsky had 11 points that year. During her Junior and Senior seasons the Wolverines won 34 matches, the most ever in the program’s history.

After graduation she played professionally for Perth Glory in Australia, winning the League Cup. She then moved to Sweden's first division and played for Vittsjö GIK. Shelina played for Team Canada at the 2015 Pan Am Games scoring two goals during the tournament.

She is now full time with the Senior Women's National Team and this season is also playing for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. Zadorsky is proving to be the starting center back for Canada alongside Kadeisha Buchanan. The two will continue to build their already-noticeable cohesiveness as they prepare for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
